On November 22nd and 29th, 2008 ISNA Canada hosted a breakfast welcoming the newly elected local MP’s from the Liberal and Conservative Parties. MP’s that were present were Liberals Bonnie Crombie, Paul Szabo, Navdeep Bains and Conservatives John Decherd, Terence Young and Federal Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Honourable Jason Kenny. These events encourage the Muslim community to become involved with local politics. By getting involved, we as Muslims can work together with our elected officials to tackle issues facing our community and Canada as a whole. MP’s from both parties were very enthusiastic about Muslims becoming active and participating in politics. ISNA Canada would like to thank all those that attended.
